User details
Please be sure to enter a correct e-mail address. If the e-mail address is entered incorrectly by mistake or a fictitious e-mail address is used, no confirmation e-mail can be sent to you.
A change of e-mail address is only complete when you click on the confirmation link in the confirmation e-mail. Until then, your e-mail will remain valid in the portal. Your new e-mail address will only be displayed when you log out of the portal and log in again.
You can enter letters as well as numbers and hyphens. If the house number consists of two numbers, e.g. Isarweg 24-26, please make the entry as follows: House number 24, house number suffix -26
Consultant profile
If you belong to the group of persons defined in Section 3 StBerG or Section 4 StBerG, for example if you are a tax consultant, you have the option of entering your firm name. This information will help you to complete tasks more quickly by pre-filling forms and services with the necessary information in the "Participation" section.
User settings
You will receive a corresponding notification by email 28 and 7 days before a draft is automatically deleted.
If you do not wish to receive these notifications, simply uncheck the corresponding box under My user account > My settings.
This setting has no effect on your inbox in Mein ELSTER: you will continue to receive messages from your tax office there.
You will receive an e-mail for each process that is marked as soon as a corresponding message is received in your inbox in My ELSTER. If you do not wish to receive notifications by e-mail, simply uncheck the relevant box(es).

User account
You can delete your user account at any time from both the public and private areas. To do this, click on the "Delete user account" link in the navigation bar.
Note: Please be aware that deleting your user account means that you will no longer have access to your data in Mein ELSTER. After deleting the user account, you will no longer be able to log in. Your Login data, the certificate file, the security stick or your signature card will then no longer be known to Mein ELSTER. To be able to use Mein ELSTER again, you will then have to completely re-register.
General settings
For blind and visually impaired people who have chosen to receive their income tax assessment in electronic form, Mein ELSTER offers the option of submitting an electronic application to convert the tax assessment into an accessible format.
To use this function, you must be logged into General settings activate the checkbox "Enable request for an accessible duplicate of the income tax assessment notice".
After retrieving your electronic income tax assessment notice, the following appears in
- My inbox compared to the notification of the income tax assessment or
under Transmitted forms compared to the submitted form
the Button "Request barrier-free duplicate notification".
You can use this Buttons to request your barrier-free duplicate of the decision. It can take two to four weeks to create the barrier-free duplicate of the decision, as the decision has to be prepared separately for this. You will receive a notification e-mail once the duplicate has been made available for data retrieval.
