Use of profiles
The profiles help you to complete tax returns / registrations quickly by pre-filling forms and services with your details from the profiles.
The individual profiles can be created and managed in My ELSTER under "My profiles". You can edit or delete created profiles at any time.
When creating a profile, you must enter a freely selectable short name (maximum 8 characters), which is used to help you differentiate between tax or employee profiles.
Tax profiles with tax number allow you to create profiles for different tax numbers (e.g. for your clients). Tax profiles with tax numbers can be used in all My ELSTER forms with the exception of the recapitulative statement.
Tax profiles with VAT identification numbers allow you to create profiles for different VAT identification numbers (e.g. for your clients). Tax profiles with VAT identification numbers can be used in the recapitulative statement.
Short name
The short name is used to make it easier to differentiate between tax profiles with VAT identification numbers. The valid format expects at least one alphanumeric character (number or capital letter), followed by up to a maximum of 7 additional characters (numbers, capital letters, "-", "." and "_").
Employee profiles allow you to create profiles for employees. You can use employee profiles in the income tax statement.
